"The family's commitment has been there since the very beginning, and that commitment has translated into credibility. We have always tried to do what we said we were going to do. It wasn't always the most profitable thing to do, but because of it we enjoy a good reputation. That's one of our big strengths, as has been our respect for nature which has actually translated into increased demand for our product -- a textbook case of doing well by doing good by being concerned about the environment."

Linger Longer Communities
We plan each community. Design it. Build it. And, unlike 99.9% of all developers who then move on, we remain active, contributing members of the community by operating it. Our communities are always evolving because we are forever searching for ways to add to the quality of life within each one. This ongoing participation by the company builds trust, not only among the residents of our communities, but also among our peers in the development industry. It means that we always "build right" because we're going to be around the people (our residents and guests) who judge our level of craftsmanship for a long, long time. It also means that every decision we make is an enduring one; one that every member of the extended Linger Longer "family" must feel comfortable about having made — something that Mercer and Jamie's grandfathers taught them long ago. Linger Longer is a family business, a private company and so, unlike a public company whose yardsticks of success are almost always financial ones, it can, if required, forego revenue or geographic growth in order to achieve other remarkable ends.

We are more than developers — we are community creators. We create full-spectrum communities where someone can, if they choose, literally spend a lifetime. Our communities are places to live, work and play, to inspire and be inspired. We actively seek to engage our residents, our guests and employees on multiple levels — physically, mentally, emotionally, spiritually and socially. We live in our own communities — and many employees of Linger Longer do volunteer work in the communities we have built. Our communities are holistic, offering all of life's necessities (and most of life's nice-to-haves) within easy reach, often within walking distance. That includes arts and cultural centers, recreational facilities, shopping, medical care, schools, churches, et cetera. These complete communities are also diverse in their composition — providing reasonably-priced housing for first-time homeowners, live-work spaces for telecommuting professionals, space-efficient revival row houses (a historic form of "colonial architecture" that is enjoying enormous popularity) and residences for retirees who may require living assistance. Linger Longer believes diversification is central to creating more caring, considerate and much more interesting communities. Complete communities also refers to the highly-participatory, on-line community that Linger Longer builds for the residents.
That's why our residents see Linger Longer communities as being such a powerful antidote to the stress and speed of the outside world.
Residents are more than residents — they are citizens of our communities, and as such, they are empowered with rights as well as responsibilities. We ensure that they have a voice in the planning, design and ongoing life of their community. We constantly solicit their feedback. Our citizens are also our best storytellers, and as such, they play a valuable role in our marketing and sales process. As citizens, they are at the heart of each neighborhood, the soul of each Linger Longer community. For they and their families, there is a true sense of connectedness with their community, and with it, feelings of pride, freedom andsafety.
Our focus is on the soft touch rather than the heavy hand, the experiential versus the commodity, the community instead of the development, the long-term vision as opposed to the short-term gain, and the giving-back, rather than the taking. We are a strong believer in the concept of sensory engineering. We think about the color, pattern and fragrance that landscaping brings to our communities. We pay attention to the quality and intensity of outdoor lighting. We understanding that "living life" occurs as much on a walking trail or in a village coffee shop as it does within the home. We appreciate and acknowledge that the homebuyer's hopes and aspirations as well as their need for prestige, pride, comfort, well-being, stability, safety and security actually enrich the community and contribute to "sense of place".
We are committed to bringing the best of local culture and small-town values to as many people as possible. In order to accomplish this, we approach development "one person at a time, one community at a time." We refuse to get ahead of ourselves, to grow in an ego-satisfying but financially-impractical way — one that would diminish the amount of thought and attention to detail that we invest in each home, each village, each community. We understand that only by pacing ourselves can we truly imbue each community with the special Linger Longer DNA.
