Human resources veteran Brenda Lazarus has been promoted to senior vice president at Reynolds Plantation. The former vice president of human resources first joined Reynolds Plantation in 2000 as director of that department. She was promoted to vice president in 2002. Reynolds Plantation recently received the Outstanding Business Leadership Award from Rivers Alive after nomination by the Lake Oconee Property Owners Association. An environmental outreach program, Rivers Alive is spearheaded by the state Environmental Protection Division's "Adopt-a-Stream" Program and the Georgia Department of Community Affairs "Keep Georgia Beautiful" Program. "The Rivers Alive program is an introductory step for many volunteers to learn about the importance of keeping our waterways clean," said Mitch Russell, Rivers Alive Coordinator. The University of Georgia once again walked away with the No. 1 spot in the recent Linger Longer Invitational golf tournament, hosted at Reynolds Plantation on May 12 - 14. It was their second win at the two-year-old competition. All-American Chris Kirk led the UGA team to a final-round 12-under- par 276, winning with a total 29-under-par 835. It was the fourth-best number in the school's history. Other teammates included Brendan Todd, Brian Harman, Hudson Swafford and Adam Mitchell. Georgia State University and Florida State University followed second and third, respectively, in the 54-stroke play tournament.

The second annual Linger Longer Invitational will bring some of the top southeastern men's college golf programs to The Oconee Course at Reynolds Plantation on May 12 - 14. That's because the former recreation coordinator has spent the past six years helping the kids of Reynolds Plantation have fun, learn and relax. And now that House has been promoted to youth program manager, she's finding new and exciting ways to make that happen. "My goal for the children's programming is to make our time together as fun and educational as possible," House said. "I would like to share as much with them as I can." That will include researching, coordinating and presenting new programs for Reynolds Plantation's youngest members, as well as presenting the summer Kids Vacation Club and other seasonal activities.

For Jason Rizner, being a former campaign manager and legislative assistant meant researching issues, providing information and managing constituent relations, with the ultimate objective of solving problems for the people his office represented. Now that he's been named Property Owners Association Director for the Linger Longer Communities, the people he will be representing are the homeowners of Reynolds Plantation and Reynolds Landing. A fifth consecutive sales record, Reynolds Plantation saw sales figures totaling 474 transactions and more than $231 million in revenue. This is the highest grossing sales year in the history of the company, and marks a 188 percent increase in total dollar volume since 2002. Total transactions have increased more than 138 percent in the same time period.

The Oconee Course at Reynolds Plantation, one of the country's leading resort venues and an acclaimed Rees Jones design, has been named the site of the 22nd PGA Cup, Sept. 21-23, 2007, the premier international competition for PGA Professionals.

The legacy of the land that is Reynolds Plantation is to be further enhanced with the formal naming of its newest golf course as The Creek Club, in honor of the heritage of the Creek tribe that once inhabited the region, as well as to reflect the character of the band of water that inhabits the property.

Starting Nov. 1, the award-winning Reynolds Plantation will be one of only two sites in the United States to employ the TaylorMade Performance Lab, which incorporates cutting-edge technology to precisely fit golfers with custom clubs. The TaylorMade Performance Lab at Reynolds Plantation is located in the Oconee clubhouse, adjacent to The Ritz-Carlton Lodge, Reynolds Plantation.

The July/August 2005 edition of GOLF FOR WOMEN Magazine announced their annual ranking of the "50 Best Courses For Women." As was the case in 2003 and 2004, the Oconee Course at Reynolds Plantation was ranked number five.
